Burtel Security & Fire Systems, a locally owned security company in the metropolitan Washington D.C. and Baltimore areas, acquired Solid State Systems on September 29, 2016.
Burtel Security & Fire Systems was established more than 44 years ago. Solid State Security, located in Gaithersburg, Md., was established in 1937. With this new acquisition, Burtel Security and Fire, (along with its residential arm, American Home Security) has a combined total of 175 years of providing commercial and residential security services.
Burtel credits innovative security solutions and customer loyalty for its success and longevity, with many customers dating back more than 30 years.
Owner David Jablonski said, “The fact that our customers have chosen to use our services for decades speaks to the trust, reliability and security we offer. We genuinely count it as a privilege to have continued protecting the lives and property of our neighbors and community for so many years.”
Burtel’s customers range from residential homes and modest storefronts to goliath corporations and government organizations.
When asked what he sees as the next phase in security, Jablonski said, “Ultimately, the landscape of security is changing. New advancements in home automation and the capability to remotely see, secure and control your home and business are key. A truly robust and highly sophisticated (yet affordable) security system that fits your needs seamlessly is the new must-have.”
