According to the SIA Megatrends Report, massive convergences between systems and technologies create vulnerabilities on many fronts to cyberattacks. In 2015, for example, HP reported that 70 percent of commonly used IoT devices are vulnerable to cyberattacks and breaches. The report lists four goals for security practitioners to help alleviate cyberthreats: having hardened products and practices; educating stakeholders and integration companies; establishing cybersecurity and IT best practices; and balancing customer needs and desires for implementation.
