Convergint Technologies acquired Maryland-based Genesis Security Systems, bringing Convergint further electronic security systems and utilities market expertise.

With 14 acquisitions since early 2016, Convergint has strategically grown its service footprint in the U.S., Canada and Europe by acquiring regional market leaders whose cultures mirror its own, the company described. Founded in 2002, Genesis Security Systems employs 75 colleagues at its headquarters in Germantown, Md., and it serves a Mid-Atlantic base of high-profile clients that includes AstraZeneca, Exelon, FEMA, National Public Radio, the International Monetary Fund, PEPCO and the World Bank Group.

“The demand for expertise in the utilities industry and Genesis’ service-centric approach made them a natural fit for Convergint,” said Dan Moceri, executive chairman and co-founder of Convergint Technologies. “The Genesis team’s impressive growth and long-term customer relationships were very attractive to us, and by combining their resources with our existing capabilities, we have a stronger base to serve Mid-Atlantic customers and expand our geographic footprint. We are very excited to leverage the expertise of Genesis’ colleagues, including leaders Glen Kruglak, Alan Kruglak, Chris Foster and Ed Simon.”
