Tech Systems Inc., ranked No. 18 on SDM’s Top Systems Integrators Report, achieved ISO 27001 certification. This certification applies to the international standard that describes the best practices for an information security management system (ISMS).

This ISO family of standards ensures the secure management of financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to companies by third parties. This is just another exciting milestone in the history of Tech Systems, the company said in a press report.

The process involved a rigorous audit entailing thorough interviews with administration, security operations center (SOC), quality assurance, human resources and finance, as well as investigation of risk management, physical security, access controls and security best practices. Tech Systems’ ISMS successfully met all logical, process, physical and management controls to achieve compliance with the standard.

In 2008, Tech Systems achieved their ISO 9001 certification. Their business has grown tremendously by applying the principles of quality management and continuous improvement. The ISO 27001 certification underscores Tech Systems’ strong commitment to their ongoing development of their Information Security Management System, the company reported. “To our knowledge, Tech Systems is the only security integrator with the ISO 27001 designation,” said Wayne Smith, president of the organization. “This certification uniquely positions us in the marketplace with respect to the rapidly changing security integration technologies, and how we manage our client’s technology and information throughout the entire value chain.”
