SIA New Product Showcase Awards Ceremony

From the moment the Security Industry Association (SIA) opened the submission process for this year’s SIA New Product Showcase (NPS) in late 2017, entries began rolling in, as over 120 products were submitted for consideration. This afternoon, they’ll learn if their hard work paid off, when the winners of the 39th annual SIA NPS are announced.

Every product entered in this year’s showcase has been subjected to a rigorous judging process, which concluded yesterday. Representing a carefully selected cross-section of the security industry, the 22 NPS judges (listed on page 34) split into panels and spent much of the day listening to 15-minute presentations and evaluating each of the 120-plus entries to determine which products are most deserving of awards in each category, as well as the coveted Best New Product and Judges’ Choice. Once again, judges may at their discretion present an Honorable Mention Award to any non-winning entry they feel is also deserving of recognition. At 3:30 p.m. today, SIA will recognize the winners on ISC West main stage, just inside the main show floor entrance on Level 2. The presentation always draws a huge audience, so if you want to secure your space, you’ll want to arrive early.

“This is another banner year for the SIA New Product Showcase. For 2018, we have tied the record number of entrants to the program at ISC West 2017,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “With new category additions reflecting interests in cybersecurity and drones and robotics, the awards program continues to grow and evolve. Last year, we welcomed a range of different companies, large and small, specializing in state of the art technologies, and we will do the same again this year. The most innovative companies at ISC West will be on display during SIA NPS.”
