Vector Security Inc. was awarded a contract to provide security for all new Habitat for Humanity homes built in Jacksonville, Fla. during the 2018-2019 contract year. Habit for Humanity is a global non-profit organization that partners with families in need of housing. Homeowners build their own homes alongside volunteers from the Habitat for Humanity organization, and pay an affordable mortgage.
Under the exclusive agreement, Vector Security will work with Habitat’s Jacksonville affiliate, HabiJax, to install a security system that provides full perimeter protection, including two motion sensors, indoor and outdoor sirens, telephone interface and backup battery in each new home constructed during the contract period. The security systems will be installed as each new home is built; approximately 18 homes are expected to be completed during the contract year.
“Vector Security is pleased to assist Habitat for Humanity in its work to provide safe and affordable housing for those in need,” said Walter Smith, general manager of Vector Security’s Jacksonville branch. “In addition, we will be supporting the construction of one Habitat home in the Jacksonville area via financial and employee volunteer support.”
The contract is part of a long-standing relationship between Vector Security and Habitat. Over the years, employees from all around Vector Security’s footprint have volunteered to help build Habitat homes. Additionally, Vector Security provides protection for HabiJax outlet stores, ReStore of Jacksonville.
“Vector Security is providing an extremely high quality product to our client families. I was also very touched that they have agreed to donate a security system for one of this year’s homes. We look forward to working with a company that understands the importance of affordable homeownership,” said Jerry Ingle, vice president of construction and real estate for HabiJax.
