Brinks Home Security hosted a successful third annual 5K run on Oct. 13, teaming up with Mission 500 as the benefitting charity. The day before the race, more than 600 School Refill Packs were assembled for local students attending Farmers Branch Elementary School. Funds from the race, over $52,000, will benefit children across the United States, as well as local elementary students and children affected by Hurricane Florence in the Carolinas.
“Last year the 5K run allowed Brinks Home Security and Mission 500 to help 1,700 students in Houston that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey,” said Jeff Gardner, president and CEO of Brinks Home Security. “This year, the proceeds raised will help even more students and children who are in need from Hurricane Florence, and we greatly appreciate the 292 participants who helped with this year’s race.”
The event was held at Brinks Home Security’s headquarters in Farmers Branch, Texas, and included a special appearance from Olympian and Boston Marathon winner Des Linden, who ran alongside participants of the 5K run. Results for the run can be found here.
