Doyle Security Systems Inc., a regional provider of residential and commercial security, fire and medical monitoring systems, announced the purchase of the customer accounts of Commercial Instruments & Alarm Systems (CIA Security), a privately held company headquartered in Fishkill, N.Y. The purchase will result in 7,500 new customers for the company, representing the largest acquisition in Doyle’s 100 year history.
"We wanted to pursue this merger with CIA Security because there’s a lot of synergy both geographically and culturally," said Jack Doyle, director of business development at Doyle Security. "It’s a very similar customer base to us and they have very similar values as a company. We’ve known them personally and by reputation for quite a while, and we know the care they put into their installations and the relationship management work they do with their customers is very similar to what Doyle does."
The acquisition significantly expands Doyle’s geographic scope and reach in New York State. Doyle will retain the current CIA offices in Fishkill and Catskill, adding to its existing branches in Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo and Erie, Penn. and its Rochester, N.Y. headquarters. Doyle Security will welcome 56 CIA employees to the Doyle team.
"One of the things we’re most excited about is that among all the CIA staff we retained, there’s some really talented people there, and they’re a little more engaged and into integration work than Doyle has been traditionally," said Jack Doyle. "They have a group of technical engineers that are qualified to do high-end integrations of hospitals, airports, and that kind of thing. That’s not something we’ve done traditionally, so we’re really excited to start to learn about those operations."
CIA Security was established in 1979 by founder, president and Alarm Industry Hall of Fame member John Lombardi, who built a reputation for providing the Hudson Valley with reliable, cost-effective, integrated security solutions for the past 40 years. Lombardi will remain on board with regional leadership responsibilities.
“It is with pride and confidence that we share this news,” Lombardi said. “I have no doubt that the incredible team at Doyle will continue to treat our customers and employees with the immense care and compassion that we have for the last 40 years.”
Davis Mergers and Acquisitions Group assisted Lombardi in the sale.
Speaking in reference to the merger, Doyle Security President and Chief Executive Officer John G. Doyle Jr. said, “This is a momentous day for Doyle Security. We have known and admired both John and his company for many years, having worked side by side in state and national industry associations. We are extremely proud to combine forces with an industry leader of John’s caliber and his talented team at CIA. They are the preeminent security service in the Hudson Valley and the potential synergies of our two companies is tremendous. I am confident that there is so much we can accomplish together.”
Doyle Security is excited to offer its new CIA employees an award-winning work culture and its new CIA customers a menu of advanced services including smart home technologies, video surveillance, access control solutions, award winning monitoring services and an industry leading mobile app.
