Mayor Frank Klipsch and the city council of Davenport, Iowa have proclaimed the week of July 14– 20, 2019, as Child Safety Week. Chris Edwards, president of electronic security for Per Mar, and Shawn Brown, vice president of sales for the Quad Cities River Bandits, accepted the proclamation at the Davenport city council meeting on July 10.
“Per Mar is excited and proud to be a part of Child Safety Week,” Edwards said. “Security isn’t just about systems, alarms and cameras. It’s about being proactive in protecting things that are invaluable to families, and that starts with keeping kids safe.”
The highlight of Child Safety Week will be on Friday, July 19, when Per Mar presents Child Safety Night at the Ballpark. Per Mar will be joined by the Quad Cities River Bandits, Davenport Police Department, KlaasKids Foundation, UnityPoint Health-Trinity and the City of Davenport to educate parents and guardians on the importance of comprehensive child safety. There will be post-game fireworks courtesy of Smart Toyota of the Quad Cities. In addition, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free, clear plastic tote from Per Mar and the Quad Cities River Bandits. Marc Klaas of the non-profit KlaasKids Foundation and Per Mar will host a KlaasKids Print-A-Thon to promote and educate families about child safety and fingerprint and photograph children at no cost.
