ASIS International announced it is currently exploring options for Global Security Exchange (GSX) 2020, scheduled to take place Sept. 21‐23 in Atlanta, Ga., amidst health concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this stage, organizers say they are evaluating whether they can safely host attendees at the Georgia World Congress Center in accordance with health and safety recommendations, and whether to move the event, in part or in full, to a virtual environment that offers the same content, instructors and interaction expected from in‐person GSX gatherings.

“We believe this will provide our attendees and exhibitors with the notice they need to make arrangements for their participation,” read an email signed by ASIS International President Godfried Hendriks and ASIS International CEO Peter O’Neil. “We will deliver an update on the status of GSX 2020 no later than 22 June. We, the ASIS International Global Board of Directors and HQ Team, appreciate your understanding as we make the decision that is right for our attendees, speakers, staff, exhibitors and other stakeholders.”

Organizers insist all GSX 2020 decisions will be driven by what is in the best interests of the safety and well‐being of all GSX constituents. For further information, visit the GSX Frequently Asked Questions.

“We would like to take a moment to recognize and thank those among our membership who have worked tirelessly on behalf of their organizations and communities,” the email concluded. “We would also like to recognize and honor the work of all healthcare providers and first responders globally. Please stay tuned for more information and stay safe.”
