Residents of the San Sofia multifamily housing community in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio turned to Vector Security Inc. for home automation technology. San Sofia is the result of the renovation of an old church and schoolhouse that was purchased from Zion United Church of Christ. Blending modern living with historical architecture, some of the units feature original woodwork, beams and stained glass from the 120-year-old structure.
As a provider of intelligent mobile security and home automation solutions to homes and businesses, Vector Security was selected by Integrity Realty Group to install smart locks, lights and thermostats in the community’s luxury apartment units, as well as access control for common areas.
“The smart home technologies installed at San Sofia provide an integrated smart home ecosystem,” said Sean Skelly, residential sales manager, Vector Security. “Residents will experience keyless living with the ability to enter their homes using personalized access codes or by using the Vector Security mobile app on their smart device. Additionally, they can grant access to guests by issuing unique, single-use codes.”
Each apartment home will also be equipped with smart lights and up to three smart thermostats that can be adjusted with a smart phone, voice control device, or programmed on a schedule to optimize comfort and convenience for each resident while managing energy use, Skelly explained. And all of it – locks, lights and thermostats – can be controlled using a single app.
The Vector Security solution includes integration with Integrity’s property management software to provide operational insights that can help create efficiencies. For example, smart locks provide the opportunity for unattended, contactless showings, which provide more scheduling flexibility to assist in the leasing process.
Jeffrey Gold, director of marketing and revenue management for Integrity Realty, noted that a standout amenity at San Sofia is a package delivery room with an access control solution that allows residents to provide single-use access codes to delivery people to ensure safe delivery of their packages. Residents can then retrieve their package from the delivery room at their convenience.
“We chose Vector Security as our smart home technology partner because they offer the most customizable and configurable solutions for our needs,” Gold said. “The result is that the homes at San Sofia have one of the highest levels of smart technology available in the Cleveland multi-housing market today.”
