Intelisys, a ScanSource company, and a provider of technology services and solutions, announced that Michael Sterl has been appointed senior vice president of sales. In this role, Sterl will lead the field and inside sales teams at Intelisys.

“Michael’s experience, philosophy and channel-first mentality aligns perfectly with our culture,” said Mark Morgan, president, Intelisys. “He has an intimate understanding of the business of the channel from all angles, and his insights will be instrumental in driving the sales partner experience at Intelisys. Michael’s track record as a trailblazer in the industry proves his vision is on target. I expect he will have an immediate impact on the resources we develop that help bridge our Partners to the best solutions offered by our roster of suppliers.”

Sterl brings extensive expertise to Intelisys, having founded multiple companies that support the channel in different capacities, and leadership positions within the ranks of others. He co-founded Cloud Optik and Carve Digital, two companies focused on delivering world-class data and analytics platforms to channel partners. He also co-founded SimpleSignal, a unified communications service provider that was acquired by Vonage, where Sterl served as regional vice president of channel sales post-acquisition.

“The paradigm for what a Sales Partner needs to be successful in this rapidly growing marketplace is changing, quickly and consistently,” said Sterl said. “I’m 100 percent aligned with Intelisys’ strategic plan to use its platform to enable its Sales Partners to scale and take advantage of the connectivity and cloud marketplace opportunity. Intelisys is uniquely positioned to enhance the business of the Sales Partner community in a manner that no other can do.”
