Vector Security was selected, for a second time, as the recipient of the prestigious Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Award. The award recognizes outstanding leadership and innovation in helping reduce unnecessary calls for service to public safety agencies. It was presented during ESX on June 18 in Nashville.
According to the Security Industry Alarm Coalition, the latest statistics from Phoenix, show the city has one of the nation’s best and most effective alarm management programs. In 2011, 84.92 percent of Phoenix alarm users did not have any false alarms and the program recovered more than $2.8 million in costs to city, SIAC stated.
The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC), the False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) and Installation Quality (IQ) Certification Program awarded HS Technology Group with the 2011 Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ).
Enhanced services have quickly become one of the security industry’s new buzz phrases. There are strong supporters, those who claim the technology isn’t ready, those who believe they are outside of a security company’s core mission, and many in between.
The Wisconsin Electronic Security Association (WIESA), Pewaukee, Wisc., recognized Dave Simon with its annual “Bill Cooper Award,” for his industry efforts in Wisconsin and nationally. It is the first year the state association expanded its award to include national recognition.
The ESA appointed Maria Malice as its representative to the SIAC board of directors. Malice will replace John D. Knox who served on the SIAC board for the past six years and recently became president of ESA.
Two alarm industry veterans were honored for their dedication, service and contribution to the industry and the customers it protects with SIAC’s 2012 William N. Moody Award. Mel Mahler, chairman and chief executive officer for ADS Security in Nashville, Tenn., and Maria Malice, vice president Special Projects at COPS Monitoring in Scottsdale, Ariz., will receive the award on June 26, 2012 at the ESX Electronic Security EXPO Icebreaker Luncheon in Nashville.
