IF YOU WERE TO ASK A SECURITY PROFESSIONAL what words come to mind with the phrase access control, terms like door solutions, readers and credentials would be a few of the likely responses. There’s one phrase, however, that they probably won’t say: sustainability.
Boon Edam Inc., a global provider of security entrances and architectural revolving doors, today announced that the QO Amsterdam Hotel, a four-star resort on the famous Amstel River, has installed a TQA automatic revolving door at its front entrance to save energy and create a comfortable lobby, while still enabling the interior to receive exposure to the exterior sunlight.
The new and improved version includes features to make master key design even easier, such as a drag and drop keying tree, and the ability to upload door schedules for increased system design accuracy.
Through the app, users can pre-load their most frequented pathways to enjoy streamlined access to doorways; use their phone as a badge even while it remains in a pocket or bag; and utilize voice commands on their smart phone or other connected device to conveniently unlock and open doors.
Marks USA, a division of NAPCO Security Technologies and sister division of Alarm Lock, debuted new online and field training classes including new pro courses on architectural-grade hardware, locking and access lock lines, by technology or vertical market.
PassiveBolt, a provider of smart lock technology, has won the CES 2020 Innovation Award in the smart home category for its Shepherd Lock, a touch-enabled smart lock with enhanced security through sensors and Artificial Intelligence.
ABLOY USA has reached an agreement with another key market provider to join its growing distributor network. Dallas-based IDN Global Inc., the International Distribution Network, now has two divisions who will provide ABLOY with a strong outlet for critical infrastructure and other security solutions throughout the United States.
Magnasphere Corporation announced a number of their UL-634 listed door contacts have been tested and are classified UL-10C, The Standard for Positive Pressure Tests of Door Assemblies. This allows Magnasphere contacts to be used in fire rated doors.
