ONVIF, a standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, has surpassed 25,000 conformant products and is celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Representatives Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) introduced the Developing and Growing the Internet of Things (DIGIT) Act on August 25, which will hopefully help identify and eliminate barriers to the quickly developing IoT network.

The U.S. Senate passed the Developing and Growing the Internet of Things (DIGIT) Act. This bipartisan bill, which unanimously passed the senate in the 115th Congress and was reintroduced in May 2019 by Senators Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.), calls for the creation of a working group of federal entities and experts from the private and academic sectors tasked with providing recommendations to congress on how to facilitate the growth of connected IoT technologies. 

The Open Security & Safety Alliance (OSSA), an industry body comprised of leaders, influencers and innovative organizations from all facets within the security, safety and building automation space, is celebrating its one year anniversary. Dahua Technology, a manufacturer of video surveillance products, announced a strategic partnership with Pepper, an IoT platform-as-a-service, to allow the integration of its intelligent solutions into Dahua hardware.

SecureNet Technologies, an international provider of security-centric IoT solutions, announced a partnership with GHS Interactive Security LLC., (No. 30 on the SDM 100) a provider of interactive home and business security systems across the United States.
