Security industry veteran, John William Mabry, Jr., born on October 5, 1937 in Kansas City, Mo., tragically died on November 18, 2011 in a car accident. John was en route to Atlanta from his home in Jacksonville, Fla. to visit his grandchildren.

Security Networks, West Palm Beach, Fla., expanded its footprint into Puerto Rico partnering with Alarm Zone, doing business as Island Security. With this partnership Island Security will market and install Security Networks products and services while Security Networks will assume the monitoring and warranty service on the accounts.
When GVI Security closed its doors in August, the most likely outcome was its award winning razberi™ integrated network video recorder was gone for good. The original inventor, industry veteran Tom Galvin, however, purchased the technology and intellectual property, and will be returning an enhanced version of the product line to production.
