Mission 500, a nonprofit charitable organization that works closely with the security industry to serve the needs of children and communities in crisis, will celebrate a year of giving through several initiatives at ISC East and SIA Honors Night Nov. 20-21

Back when video surveillance relied on tape-based VCRs for recording, deploying these systems was fairly straightforward. You simply connected the camera or cameras directly to the VCR and — voila — everything was captured on tape. Retention depended on how often you wanted to switch out the tape and how much cabinet space you had to store tapes.

Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.) introduced the Stadiums Operating under New Guidance (SONG) Act, which gives the Federal Aviation Administration the authority to issue Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) for concerts and other events held at stadiums across the country.

For the past 13 years, U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Chad Watson (Ret.) has proven the resiliency and toughness of U.S. service members by creating a new life for himself after he lost half of his right leg in a 2006 IED explosion in Iraq. In recognition of Watson’s sacrifice and determination throughout his difficult recovery, the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E.
