Richmond Alarm announced the acquisition of Becker & Ellington Security Systems of Midlothian, Va. The transaction is the second Richmond Alarm has made in the past year. The merger is anticipated to result in double digit growth for Richmond Alarm as they continue to expand their central Virginia physical security services footprint and offer the latest technology to residential and commercial customers.
Steve Mayer was named the vice president of operations and administration for Emergency24, Des Plaines, Ill., and is replacing long-time executive Patrick Devereaux, who has retired but remains with the company in an advisory role.
Emotions were running high on the last day of Connect 2018, held Nov. 15-17 at a resort in Marco Island, Fla. At the awards banquet, speeches were made, videos watched and the always anticipated reveal of where next year’s event would be held was unveiled. But this year was different. This year, there were two dates — and locations — announced: one for Honeywell (Miami) and another for the recently spun-off independently run Resideo (Phoenix). Friends and former colleagues sought each other out for one last hug, unsure when they might see each other at another event like this. Despite some tears, however, there was a strong feeling of optimism in the room, both that day and in the previous days, filled with lots of informative sessions, general sessions, motivational speakers — and even a camel.
Vector Security announced a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Vector Security will receive in-arena sponsorship exclusivity in the home and business security categories and is named the “Official Security Partner of the Pittsburgh Penguins” through the 2020-21 season.
