Allegion plc, a global security products and solutions provider, has agreed to acquire ISONAS through one of its subsidiaries. The transaction is expected to close early in the third quarter of 2018, subject to customary closing conditions.

The Electronic Security Expo (ESX) is quickly becoming the “UNevent,” redefining the traditional purpose of industry shows within the electronic security and life safety channel, the organization described in its ESX 2018 wrap-up. The event, held June 19-22 in Nashville, stated its mission was “to bring leaders together to learn more, share more and interact more.”
DMP announced its ESX TECHVISION Challenge win, now two years in a row. This year’s award goes to DMP’s Virtual Keypad Access. In addition, DMP received ESX Innovation Awards in two other categories.
The Senate passed a defense spending bill June 18 that does not include a ban on certain Chinese camera manufacturers, including Hikvision and Dahua, as the House version did; however, a final bill will have to be passed by both chambers reconciling the two bills and then signed by President Trump. Whether this final bill includes the Chinese camera ban remains to be seen.
