Hirsch Electronics welcomed U.S. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-CA 47th District) to its corporate facility in Santa Ana, Calif., to meet with Hirsch Electronics executives to discuss homeland security and to tour their manufacturing facility.
“I am proud of the work Hirsch Electronics does to help secure our nation and its citizens,” stated Congresswoman Sanchez. “Homeland security is about more than just stopping a terrorist. It’s about ensuring the security of our ports and commerce, financial systems, dams, power plants, computer networks, overseas military bases, and even our identities. Hirsch’s great success in these areas produces many benefits, including growth in high-tech jobs right here in Orange County, California’s ‘Tech Coast’ area.”
Congresswoman Sanchez exchanged information with Hirsch Electronics experts regarding security of our homeland including ports, transportation, petroleum reserves, critical infrastructure, federal buildings and other high-risk facilities. They discussed legislation, funding, security successes and future opportunities.
“We appreciate Congresswoman Sanchez visiting Hirsch’s global headquarters,” commented Hirsch Electronics vice president Rob Zivney. “And we are grateful for her efforts in Congress to fight for increased federal funding of security projects. She has a reputation for accessibility and collaboration, and the meeting with her here today reinforces those traits and demonstrates her strong commitment to businesses and constituents in her district.”
Congresswoman Sanchez represents the 47th Congressional District of California, which encompasses the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana and some of Fullerton in Orange County. She is serving her sixth term in the House of Representatives. As the second-ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Homeland Security, Congresswoman Sanchez is working to protect the country and its citizens, including voting for the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act which implemented the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and was signed into law.
