Digital Monitoring Products (DMP), based in Springfield, Mo., announced yesterday that it launched SecureCom Wireless, LLC as a new business to provide cellular service for DMP customers utilizing the company’s recently released 463G digital cellular communicator. The unit is a plug-in card that adds a direct wireless communication path from its XR500 panels to any DMP central station receiver over a GSM/GPRS data network. With SecureCom Wireless, DMP customers can install and activate the communications module in a single-step installation.
“We do our best to support our customers with products that are both technically advanced, and simple to install and use," said general manager, David Rogers. “With the addition of SecureCom, we’ve provided installers with a single source for both the hardware and the cellular service needed to create a reliable dedicated wireless path for the transmission of alarm signals.”
Creating multiple, redundant communication paths is a well-known strategy to ensure reliable connections between the control panel at a protected premises and a central station. DMP’s 463G digital cellular communicator, used with SecureCom Wireless, provides authorized DMP dealers with a new wireless communication path option that’s suitable as either the primary path or as a reliable back-up. After establishing an account with SecureCom Wireless, installers will be issued a serial number that will enable them to activate the SIM card via DMP’s Remote Link application. After programming the panel, Remote Link will recommend the optimum data plan based on the level of security, desired communication path configuration, and specific programming for the account.
