Today the U.S. president decided to delay planned tariff increases and reduce some additional tariffs on Chinese products as part of an initial deal with China.
Yesterday, on Oct. 7, the Bureau of Industry and Security of the Department of Commerce announced that it will add 28 Chinese governmental and commercial organizations — including Hikvision and Dahua, two of the largest video surveillance manufacturers in the world — to the Entity List for engaging in or enabling activities contrary to the foreign policy interests of the United States.
At the direction of President Trump, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced an increase on the rate of additional duty imposed since September 2018 on approximately $200 billion in goods imported from China, from the current 10 percent to 25 percent.
