As the Golf Classic enters its teen years, it continues to serve as the sole fundraising event for AIREF, the research arm of the electronic security industry. Proceeds fund critical research and educational programs that benefit the industry and enhance public safety.

A dozen years of golf, a dozen winners a year, nets a gross of lucky and talented players. But everyone was a winner at the AIREF 12th Annual Golf Classic held at the Revere Golf Club in Las Vegas yesterday.

Although it was held on April Fool’s Day, the success of the 11th Annual Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF) Golf Classic was no joke. All laughs were credited to a great day on the golf course.

The Alarm Industry Research & Educational Foundation (AIREF) represents the electronic life safety, security and systems industry, under the auspices of the Electronic Security Association (ESA). Since AIREF’s beginnings in 1977, foundation members have been focused on improving education in the alarm industry as well as conducting research that public safety officials can use to better protect and serve the community, and dealers, distributors, manufacturers and monitoring stations can use to increase acceptance of their products and improve public relations.
