It’s green and small. And someone is going to win the HGTV Green Home after a full-press national campaign that will help educate homeowners on the positives of sustainability. Kemp Hall Studio designed the 2,300-square-foot HGTV Green Home 2012 to look, feel and live like a 4,000-square-foot home.
Brent Street runs through a diverse, tree-lined neighborhood in Dorchester, Mass. At 81 Brent Street stands a three-story, traditional New England home. However, its basic design is the only traditional thing about the home, which is adorned with 30 solar panels on its roof, native and drought-tolerant plants and trees in its yard, and a home automation system fit for the Jetson’s.

The event was last in Indianapolis, the headquarters’ home of the Custom Electronics Design & Installation Association, six years ago in 2005 and this year it is back at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, starting September 7 with the tradeshow first opening on September 8 and continuing through September 10.
