Immix, a provider of physical security software, has received ISO 27001:2013 certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS).

The Security Industry Association’s (SIA) Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) standard has been approved by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) technical committee on alarm and electronic security systems as an international standard. 

While the access control continues to play second fiddle to video surveillance in terms of adoption of open standards, the drive to modernize systems is creating a movement toward those open standards in the access control industry — which is forecast to top $2.3 billion worldwide by the end of 2013, according to IMS Research, now part of IHS Inc.
