The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced the speaker line-up for Securing New Ground (SNG), the organization’s executive conference for security professionals, taking place on Oct. 28 in a virtual format.
Against the backdrop of the Hudson River, the 2016 SIA Honors Night was held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Current at Chelsea Piers in New York City. The evening was marked by a theme of coming together, from raising funds for Mission 500 to celebrating those who have devoted themselves to the industry.
At SIA Honors Night, a slide show and speech was delivered by Alan Forman, president and CEO, Altronix and advisory board member of Mission 500, who highlighted some milestones since this organization was launched in the security industry in 2007.
Along Manhattan’s Hudson River lies Chelsea Piers, a 28-acre waterfront village for public recreation and waterfront access; so with flowing water and boats of all shapes and sizes in view, what better place to host SIA Honors Night.
SIA Honors Night at Current at Chelsea Piers celebrated performance, partnerships and people in the security industry with a cocktail reception, dinner, award presentations and a dessert reception. It was with pride and great respect that SIA honored Frank De Fina with the 2015 George R. Lippert Memorial Award.
A portion of the proceeds of SIA Honors Night benefits the Mission 500 nonprofit organization, which is organizing the security industry to sponsor 1,000 children in need, providing access to life-changing basics such as food, clean water, healthcare and education.

The evening event began with a cocktail hour during which guests mingled and networked at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, and then moved onto a seated dinner and awards presentation.
