The city of Split in Croatia selected Nedap to improve on-street parking. Nedap’s SENSIT, a sensor-based vehicle detection system, is implemented for a total of 1,500 parking bays in three paid parking zones. On and off street parking in Split is managed by the public entity Split Parking. In this project, Nedap closely cooperated with the Croatian companies Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Profico and Infoart.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is responsible for planning and providing the requirements of transport, roads & traffic in the Emirate of Dubai. As part of the authority’s efforts to provide smart services to residents and visitors, the Smart Parking Project was initiated. This project offers a new service whereby information about the number of available parking spaces in on-street & off-street public parking areas is provided using dynamic message signs and a RTA smartphone app. Nedap’s SENSIT, the smart parking platform, was implemented to provide this information of individual parking spaces in real-time.
Farpointe Data, announced that Secure Our City Inc., an electronic security technology and low voltage design firm based in Ashland, Mass., was able to solve the problems that a parking garage used by a leading healthcare organization was having with standard 125-kHz proximity readers and credentials. By creating a new security system featuring cameras, access control and the Farpointe Ranger long range reading system, Secure Our City was able to make possible higher security access, such as double-tapping at the entrance, and provide the increased control the parking garage needed.
With an estimated population of 2.6 million people, Warsaw is the largest city in Poland. Many skyscrapers dominate the new city skyline, hosting public organizations as well as domestic and international private companies. Facing high levels of traffic congestion, the Warsaw city authorities are investing in major ITS infrastructural changes, such as for public transportation, road infrastructure and on and off street parking.
