Karyn Hodgson
As the Editor-in-Chief of SDM, Karyn Hodgson is responsible for the overall editorial direction of the magazine, its supplements, e-newsletters and website. She works with the SDM editorial staff to develop content that helps security dealers and systems integrators operate successful businesses. Karyn represents SDM at trade shows and conferences, and directs exclusive research studies such as the SDM Industry Forecast. She also manages SDM’s Dealer of the Year and Systems Integrator of the Year Award programs. Karyn has an MSJ in Journalism (magazine publishing) degree from Northwestern University, and more than 25 years’ experience writing for and about the security industry. Rodney Bosch
Rodney Bosch joined the SDM editorial team in May 2022. He has been covering all facets of the electronic security industry as a trade journalist since 2006. As SDM Senior Editor, Bosch writes exclusive cover stories, such as SDM’s State of the Market series, as well as other feature-length articles. He also heads up the news section for both the emagazine and the website; and manages the annual Monitoring Today and Video Monitoring Today supplements.

Axis Communications Opens New Experience Center in Irvine, Calif.
Axis Communications, headquartered in Chelmsford, Mass., hosted a grand opening/ribbon-cutting party at their brand new Irvine, Calif. location on Tuesday, September 29. This location is part of an ongoing effort to offer “Axis Experience Centers” (AEC) in strategic locations throughout North America. These showplace facilities feature technology centers for a variety of verticals, allowing potential partners and customers to see the solution in action. Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, North America, Bill Wentlandt, business area manager for the U.S., West, and Martin Gren, Axis co-founder and director of the board, led media, partners and customers on a tour around the facility. SDM was there for the media tour and after party. Here are some photo highlights from the evening.
