The organizers of ISC West have released the line-up of keynote speakers scheduled to appear during the conference, held in Las Vegas at the Venetian Expo, March 28-31.

This year’s presentations include five high profile individuals who are widely-respected for their professional and lifetime achievements. Following is a brief description of each keynote session and the topics of the discussions, which range from cybersecurity intrigue, securing events at major venues and the art of high impact leadership.

Following are the featured presenters.

Wed., March 29 | 8:45-9:45 a.m. | Venetian Ballroom F
Speaker: Theresa Payton

Cybersecurity expert Theresa Payton, the first female White House CIO, will present “Secure the Future: Cybersecurity Trends & Best Practices for Business.”

This is not your typical “gloom and doom” security talk. Be prepared instead for the fascinating, true-crime style approach @TrackerPayton was known for on the CBS hit show Hunted, with practical, real-world stories that are as entertaining as they are helpful and immediately actionable strategies for keeping your business, your people, and your data secure.

Payton will brief audience members on the current threat landscape, what to watch out for, how to respond if targeted and what businesses can do today to be prepared for the future.

Thur., March 30 | 8:45-9:45 a.m. | Venetian Ballroom F
Speakers: Jim Mercurio, John Bertsch & Joe Monroe

In a session titled “Leveraging Technology in Modern Security Operations for Major Events,” a trio of panelists will explore how security technologies are effectively deployed to mitigate risks, improve emergency response, inform decision-making and maintain a safe environment for major sport and entertainment events.

 The featured panelists are:

Jim Mercurio, executive vice president & general manager of Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers. In his current role, Mercurio oversees all aspects of stadium & event operations. Monroe was instrumental in the restructuring of campus safety units at the university where he now oversees the operations of the police, security for UK HealthCare facilities, campus security technology and several other units.
