Last year was a banner year for many of the top security companies, who were ranked by their 2023 recurring monthly revenue (RMR) on the annual SDM 100 Report. Collectively they increased both RMR and total annual revenue to their highest number since 2016, and much of that was due to increased customer demand for technology like video, access control and integrated systems. With the challenges presented by inflation, high interest rates and a labor shortage, the manufacturing and distributor partners they selected to help them get the job done were more important than ever.

SDM asked each of the 2024 SDM 100 companies to share their top three manufacturers and top three distributors, based on volume purchased. The resulting lists below represent the wide variety of suppliers security companies in the installation and monitoring channel rely on to help them complete their projects.

These brand-usage lists were compiled from the 2024 SDM 100 Report. Out of the 100 companies ranked, 84 of them listed their manufacturing and distributor partners. SDM combined all of their responses, and ranked the manufacturers and distributors by the number of mentions each received. Beyond the top 9 manufacturers and top 7 distributors listed in order, mentions were distributed among a number of other suppliers.
