Bold Technologies’ UniversalConnector module converts SMS, email, ODBC database, FTP, TCP, GPRS, RSS, UDP and simple files into regular signals, GPS, video and audio alarms that are delivered into Manitou, Bold’s central station automation software. Manitou can receive information from a variety of sources, in many formats such as XML, comma separated or text. End users can have signals sent to a central station and choose how the alarm is handled. If location information is included, a geo-fence can qualify the signal. Alarm companies can sell different types of monitoring, such as vehicle monitoring or a blanket alarm, which monitors the temperature for cancer patients and sends an email upon changes. Bold’s UniversalConnector translates signals so they can be received and monitored in Manitou.
