MaxProCloudHoneywell released the latest version of its hosted video system to provide companies with a greater range of options for storing their critical surveillance clips, which is important for businesses that must comply with stringent security regulations.

MAXPRO Cloud 3.0 is designed to allow companies to easily expand video storage capabilities as needed. This latest version features online tools that enable users to manage surveillance across multiple sites and sift through clips faster.

According to Avande Research and Insights, approximately 74 percent of businesses already use cloud-based services. Honeywell estimates hosted video can save users about $1,500 annually by eliminating annual costs associated with software updates, system administration and other items.

Honeywell says MAXPRO 3.0 is among the first in the industry to offer a combination of local, USB-based, a network-attached storage appliance and cloud-based backup. This gives companies, such as small businesses, more options to continuously store HD video locally while backing up their most important events in the cloud, the company said.

Other enhancements to MAXPRO Cloud include a notification manager intended to help security personnel make more informed and faster decisions when responding to alarms. For example, the system can email video clip links to users to help them determine proper responses. It can also help security dealers and integrators provide a proactive service by alerting them to system health issues such as camera loss, communication loss, local hard-drive failure and more. Additionally, the system now features a digital dashboard interface that simplifies multiple-site management by providing a single view for all locations.
