SIA Honors Night at Current at Chelsea Piers celebrated performance, partnerships and people in the security industry with a cocktail reception, dinner, award presentations and a dessert reception. It was with pride and great respect that SIA honored Frank De Fina with the 2015 George R. Lippert Memorial Award.

The Lippert Award was founded in 1989 and is named to honor George R. Lippert, who dedicated more than 20 years of his life to the security industry and SIA. This award recognizes and honors long-term service to SIA and the security industry as well as integrity, leadership and diplomacy demonstrated in industry dealings.

De Fina passed away unexpectedly in July 2015 and at the time of his death, he was senior director of strategic sales for Hikvision USA Inc. and served on the SIA Board of Directors. He spent nearly 30 years in the security industry serving as executive vice president of sales and marketing for SightLogix; executive vice president of sales and marketing for Samsung Techwin America; and president and COO at Panasonic Systems Solutions Company.

Frank De Fina Jr., De Fina’s son, was present to accept the Lippert Award in honor of his father, as Patricia De Fina, Frank De Fina’s wife, looked on from the audience.
