Bold Technologies, a provider of alarm monitoring and PSIM software, launched its new learning and training platform, BoldU. BoldU was introduced to customers in mid-February and officially kicked off on March 1.

BoldU replaced Bold’s previous training platform, BoldGenius. The selection and design of the new platform was spearheaded by Caryn Morgan, Bold’s curriculum designer, who sought to create a more comprehensive site for customers to learn about Bold’s Manitou software and enhance their skills. The process of selecting a learning management platform host, moving and updating content from BoldGenius, and preparing the site for customers took approximately 10 months, the company reported, but Morgan said she is pleased with the results: “BoldU has features and capabilities we couldn’t offer through BoldGenius. We knew it was time to take our learning and training offerings to a new level, especially to support our new ManitouNEO upgrade.”

BoldU is a subscription-based platform, with multiple levels so users can customize their learning experience. All Bold customers have complimentary access to the first level, a large resource center with training documentation and an introductory eLearning class. Subsequent levels are available for a monthly fee, with unlimited users for each customer account. They include eLearning courses, instructor-led online learning and webinar classes, and complimentary access to Bold’s on-site training courses at its Colorado Springs facility.

Morgan said, “We see much better results whenever we engage with our learners in person, whether it’s via webcam or face to face. The instructor-led classes encourage our customers to embrace continuous learning throughout their career.”

Initial response to BoldU has been strong, Bold reported, with more than 500 customers registering in the first month alone. Morgan has also seen an increase in site usage over BoldGenius, noting, “We’ve already had over 1,300 resource materials downloaded from BoldU since inception. We’re very happy that customers are embracing this new way of learning, and look forward to expanding our content offerings regularly.”
