Security 101, a security systems integrator, announced 20 non-profit winners for its 8th Annual Gift of Security. The corporate giving initiative donates $10,000 worth of integrated security services from locally owned Security 101 offices, and equipment from program product partners Axis Communications and WESCO Distribution to deserving non-profits. All integrated security solutions provided are completely free to the winning non-profit organizations.
Non-profit winners are selected by the public through an online voting poll. This year 150,000 votes were cast to determine the 2020 Gift of Security award winners, which include: Men’s Shelter of Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C.; The Lake County Haven in Chicago, Ill.; Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center of Cleveland, Ohio; CHOICES Inc. of Columbus, Ohio; and more.
One of the more challenging aspects of the Gift of Security has been getting organizations to understand the legitimacy of the giving program and to nominate themselves, according to Security 101. Local offices are privately owned and under no obligation to participate in the Gift of Security. Employees at participating local offices often donate their time during the work week to execute the program and time on the weekend for installations.
“Our organization is thrilled to have grown the program like we did,” said Corey Tyriver, Security 101’s director of marketing and creative. “There are truly no strings attached to the gift of security that each non-profit receives, so it is a great feeling to make a difference within organizations that selflessly give to their local communities on a regular basis.”
