The Pennsylvania Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (PBFAA) has cancelled its 38th Annual Expo over fears surrounding the spread of coronavirus.
The event was originally scheduled to take place April 29-30 at the Holiday Inn in Harrisburg/ Hershey - Grantville, Penn. The board decided to cancel after careful consultation over the health and safety of everyone in the industry.
“As an association dedicated to safety and security, and after careful consideration with member companies and exhibitors regarding the health and safety of everyone involved, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the PBFAA Expo,” said Jim Bucciaglia, PBFAA president. “The decision was not reached lightly. We are asking members to join us in keeping the positive spirit of the Expo alive as we move forward together through this unprecedented situation.”
Attendee, exhibitor and sponsor fees will be refunded by the PBFAA. Attendees who made hotel reservations should contact the hotel directly to cancel their reservation and request a refund.
The 2020 Annual Membership Meeting, which was scheduled to be held during the Expo, has been rescheduled. It will now be held during the Annual Golf Outing on July 28, 2020 at Applecross Country Club in Downingtown, Penn.
“We are still weighing the best potential path forward amid various options,” said Executive Director Dale Eller. “Our goal is to explore all possible alternatives so that we can provide a productive setting where the industry can engage with the latest technology, hear from industry thought leaders and make networking connections that drive our industry forward.”
