Motorola Solutions Inc. announced it has completed the acquisition of IndigoVision. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, IndigoVision develops complete, end-to-end video security solutions, including cameras, video management software, encoders and storage devices.
Monitronics International Inc. and its subsidiaries (doing business as Brinks Home Security) announced that it has acquired approximately 114,000 residential alarm monitoring contracts from Protect America Inc. totaling approximately $4.6 million in recurring monthly revenue.
Resideo Technologies Inc. announced that it acquired privately held company, Herman ProAV, based in Miramar, Fla. Herman ProAV is a provider and distributor of professional audio-visual products, procurement services and labor resources to systems integrators in the commercial audio-visual industry.
ADT Commercial announced its purchase of Alliant Integrators, Louisville, Ky., a provider of commercial fire alarm detection, installation, inspection and maintenance services in the Kentucky and southern Indiana region.
Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company in North America (No. 11 on SDM’s 2018 Top Systems Integrators Report, based on 2017 data), has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Dallas-based security integrator Securadyne Systems (No. 8 on SDM’s 2018 Top Systems Integrators Report, based on 2017 data). The deal is expected to close on April 15, 2019. This acquisition will combine a leading U.S. security services company with a world-class technology solutions provider, which will serve as a platform for providing technology-enabled security solutions on a global scale. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sargent and Greenleaf (S&G), a manufacturer of mechanical and electronic locks, announced Jan. 30 that OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm, entered into an agreement to acquire S&G from Stanley Black & Decker.
Richmond Alarm announced the acquisition of Becker & Ellington Security Systems of Midlothian, Va. The transaction is the second Richmond Alarm has made in the past year. The merger is anticipated to result in double digit growth for Richmond Alarm as they continue to expand their central Virginia physical security services footprint and offer the latest technology to residential and commercial customers.
Last year was a big one for security industry mergers and acquisitions. SDM counted at least seven major deals involving security dealers or integrators — as either buyers or sellers.
Johnson Controls International plc announced a definitive agreement to sell its Power Solutions business to Brookfield Business Partners L.P. together with institutional partners including Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in a cash transaction valued at $13.2 billion.
