Hanwha Techwin America (HTA), a global supplier of IP and analog video surveillance solutions, announced the appointment of company veteran Kichul (K.C.) Kim as the new president for the Americas. Demand for security cameras is projected to increase 7.2 percent annually through 2021 to $2.8 billion, according to Video Surveillance Equipment Market in the U.S., a new study from Cleveland-based industry research firm Freedonia.
According to a report by Jon Cropley, principal analyst for video surveillance at IHS Markit, the world market for professional video surveillance equipment grew by 3.9 percent in 2016. While this is a higher rate of growth than in 2015 (1.9 percent), it is still low by historical standards, IHS reported.
