The Monitoring Association (TMA) has named Cooperative Response Center Inc.’s (CRC) Laura Jacobson, central station coordinator at CRC’s Austin, Minn., facility, TMA’s 2017 Support Person of the Year.
In sessions, keynotes and on the tradeshow floor, the word of the day seemed to be “change.” In fact, this year’s official theme was “Explore. Expand. Exchange. Evolve.” ESX was held in Nashville June 12-16, and most agreed this is a great venue. Next year’s event will return to Nashville, June 19-22, 2018, an announcement that was met with cheers.

ESA’s annual Day on Capitol Hill took place May 16 and 17, during which time security industry representatives visited nearly 100 U.S. House and U.S. Senate Congressional offices to discuss topics pertinent to the security issue and develop communication and relationships with lawmakers.

FLIR Systems Inc. appointed James J. Cannon president and CEO, effective June 19, 2017. Cannon will succeed Andy Teich, whose retirement after 33 years of service was previously announced on February 14, 2017.
CEDIA has accepted the resignation of its Global President/CEO Vin Bruno, effective immediately. Bruno has resigned in order to focus on new opportunities in the residential and commercial technology industries, building upon his distinguished career and service to CEDIA, Crestron and VCOM International Multimedia Corporation, the company reported in a press release.
