Running a single low-voltage cable via 802.3bt PoE for both power and data connections eliminates the need for separate cables and dedicated high-voltage connections.

Created as an IEEE standard, 802.3bt specifies how power can be transmitted over Ethernet cables using all four pairs of wires in standard cables.

There are several solutions available to extend the distances of PoE network links, including media converters that accommodate most combinations of coax, UTP, Ethernet and fiber infrastructure.
