The deadline is fast approaching for companies to compete for the Police Dispatch Quality award (PDQ), which will be presented in June at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) in Indianapolis.
“We are looking for companies that exemplify an all out effort to reduce false alarms by implementing Enhanced Call Confirmation (ECC) and other features known to reduce false alarm dispatches such as training customers and working closely with law enforcement,” said Stan Martin, SIAC executive director.
“This award is a great opportunity for recognition within the industry, in a firm’s local community and as an enhancement to employee morale, as well as marketing,” Martin said. “You will find the process to apply is not nearly as complex and time consuming as it was in previous years. We're simply looking for the best programs that can be easily documented for submission. Applicants can decide how much detail they wish to provide.”
Applications are being accepted in three categories: full service integrators that have in-house monitoring, integrators that use a third-party monitoring service provider and contract monitoring providers that do not have any accounts they provide service for.
Another change to the program this year is the PDQ award can have multiple winners. There will still be one overall winner, but the judges have been given the latitude to issue runner-up recognition. This change is being instituted because of how close the judging has become and to be fair to the applicants. In addition, there are major changes in the judging criteria.
The new simplified application can be found at siacinc.org. Deadline for submissions is April 30, 2019.
