Video monitoring represents a major growth center for central stations, the vast majority of which are currently offering the service in one form or another. As adoption and service offerings continue to grow, monitoring companies are going to have questions. Central stations that currently offer monitored/hosted video services share what has been successful for them in the areas of selecting and training operators, managing bandwidth and storage, and setting pricing, which should be helpful for navigating the waters of video monitoring.

Hendrick Medical Center is one of the largest hospitals in the West Texas area serving referrals from 16 smaller hospitals in the surrounding counties. Known for its sophisticated trauma center and high level of care, the flagship 500-bed acute care center is undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion.

Rapid Response Monitoring, Syracuse, N.Y., is in the beginning stages of opening a new central station in the Western United States.

Netwatch USA, a remote visual monitoring company, announced its launch into the United States market with the opening of its offices in Boston, Mass on Feb. 21, 2012. Headquartered in Carlow, Ireland the company is investing more than $4 million in its expansion into North America and pledged to create 50 jobs over the next 18 months. Thirty jobs will be created between its Boston and Carlow operations by the end of 2012, bringing total employment to more than 120 people. Supporting the company’s expansion into the U.S. market is former Boston Police Commissioner and Netwatch board member, Kathleen O’Toole.

Dynamark Monitoring Inc., Hagerstown, Md., announced that a new, UL listed, third-party central station is now open and monitoring accounts.

California is the most populous state — by far, and it is the third-largest by land area (after Alaska and Texas). That creates a vast territory and an incredible amount of end users for the California Alarm Association (CAA) to cover.

New York City-based SecureWatch24 said it is introducing a new national advertising campaign that asks prospects to “Deny Dangerous” by utilizing the company’s security services.
